Sausage and Swiss Chard Pizza
We love homemade pizza at our house. I try to keep it easy. I usually use some dough from the fridge. You know, this one. I roll it out and place it in a pan greased with olive oil. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and prepare your toppings. This time I browned up some turkey Italian sausage. Then I sliced one small white onion. I cut the stems off of my swiss chard and reserved them for another dish later in the week. Then I sliced the leaves into thin strips and gave them a quick saute in a bit of olive oil. Tomato sauce spiced up with Italian herbs, crushed red pepper, and garlic powder was the base for the toppings. Shredded mozzarella and parmesan finished things off. I cooked the pizza for about 12 minutes at 425 and then 2 minutes under the broiler. YUM!
What are some of your favorite veggie toppings?

I've had pizza on my brain lately. I'm going to make some gluten-free dough and top it with greens. It looks so yummy!
